Yarnworker LLC is hosted by Liz Gipson. This space is for weavers who love to weave on a rigid-heddle loom and want to gain more know-how to increase their personal joy at the loom.
Community spaces within the Yarnworker sphere are focused on rigid-heddle weaving and does not cover other loom types. Some of the information may reference or apply to other looms or weaving in general. The support you will find here is rigid-heddle focused.
All yarn welcome! While I may offer advice about why one yarn is better than another for a given project, there is no yarn that you can't weave with. The school’s focus is on offering know-how to weave using materials you have and that will get you the results you want.
All people are welcome! As a largely virtual space, the Yarnworker community is comprised of folks from all walks of life—all nationalities, all cultures, all colors, all ethnicities, all genders and gender identities, all religions, all sexual orientations, all ages, all sizes, all abilities, all people from all sorts of families, and all are welcome. Those who hang in this space agree that weaving is tops and we want to grow our weaving skills in an environment that is encouraging, inclusive, and informative.
The Patron Student Union community space is for patrons of the Yarnworker School to ask questions; share what’s on their loom and finished and in-progress projects; and chat with their fellow schoolmates about weaving-related interests.
